But these shouldn’t be the only records. In 2016, in his second season with Munich, he became top scorer in a FC Bayern jersey for the first time, scoring a total of thirty times in the Bundesliga. In 2014 he secured this title for the first time in Dortmund. That should only be the beginning, also in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and most likely 2022 the top scorer in the Bundesliga is Robert Lewandowski.
The Pole’s consistency is impressive and even shattered records that were thought to be invincible, such as that of Gerd Müller: 40 goals this season in the Bundesliga in the 1971/72 season. Lewandowski not only broke the record last season, he even surpassed it with 41 goals and has been the sole holder of the Bundesliga record ever since.
