Wolfsburg (dpa) – Wolfsburg’s coach Florian Kohfeldt wants to say goodbye to the mixed season with a good result against champions FC Bayern Munich.
“I wish that we would go home in the afternoon after an overall unsatisfactory season and say goodbye to the spectators,” said Kohfeldt, looking at the last Bundesliga game on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky). After a messed-up season, the 39-year-old announced: “Next year will be a bit different overall.” Two weeks ago, VfL had secured relegation.
Despite the record champions’ 2-2 win at home against relegation candidate VfB Stuttgart last weekend, Kohfeldt warned of the “best German team” that had “incredible offensive dominance”. But he also sees one or the other starting point for opportunities.
Felix Nmecha is out due to knee treatment. Koen Casteels, Jerome Roussillon and Sebastiaan Bornauw will be available again on Saturday while John Anthony Brooks and Dodi Lukebakio will be seen off.
