Police lost contact with body finder of murdered Peter Langenberg

After a German tourist found the body of Peter Langenberg, the police lost contact with this man. This is apparent from the call that the Dutch police made yesterday in a German investigation programme. It now also appears that the arrested Egmonder (29) has so far been silent about the murder.

On Easter Sunday, Alkmaarder Peter Langenberg (56) found dead and naked in the dunes north of Egmond. Because important witnesses may still not have been found, the police made an appeal last night on the German channel ZDF.

It was specifically about the finders of Peter’s cell phone, whose blurred images were shown. The possible German couple of around 60 years old handed in the phone to a bookstore on the Voorstraat in Egmond aan Zee.

“They have followed our call in Certificates not yet reported,” a police spokesperson reported today to NH Nieuws. And apparently the police were looking for someone else, namely the man who found the body of the Alkmaarder on April 17.

Although the police does not report anything about this on the Dutch website, it can be read on the website of the German channel.

“Gesucht wird außerdem ein deutscher Tourist, der den Toten gefunden hatte”

from Police call on German TV

A German tourist who found the dead man is also being sought. The Dutch police also calls on him to come forward.” is the literal translation of the callThis did lead to success: “That person has reported himself”, according to the police.

‘Lost contact’

But how can the police ‘lose’ the finder of Peter’s body? The police spokesperson cannot answer questions about this ‘in the interest of the investigation’. It is also not clear whether this German, for example, only called 112 when he found the body, or also spoke to an agent on the spot.

To several questions from NH Nieuws, the police only answer: “It was not possible to get in touch with this person afterwards. Hence the call on German television. We are very happy that he reported immediately.”

Then there is also news about the arrested man (29) from Egmond aan Zee, which we have so far because of the imposed restrictions heard nothing about it.

“Zwar kann die Polizei fünf Tage später einen Tatverdächtigen verhaften, but der 29-Jährige schweigt”

from CALLING POLICE ON GERMAN TV

The website of the German channel reads: ‘Although police are able to arrest a suspect five days later, the 29-year-old remains silent. The police depend on witnesses to reconstruct the background and the course of events.

In two and a half months, the court will consider this case for the first time in a public hearing. Until then, do you have any tips about this story? Mail to [email protected]
