Telekom is relaunching its prepaid tariffs. The company announced that the individual packages will have more power and some of the prices will remain the same. TECHBOOK presents the new prepaid offers.
If you want to get a new mobile phone contract, you have a lot of choice. One of the most popular providers is Telekom with its well-developed network. The company has now announced that the so-called MagentaMobil prepaid tariffs will change from May 17, 2022. Basically, all models from S to XL get an upgrade in data volume. The price is also almost the same. The monthly discount increases for only one model.
An overview of the changes to Telekom’s prepaid tariffs
In this regard, it is said that from tariff option M it will be possible to make phone calls and send text messages to all networks, including the fixed network, at no additional cost. So far, an all-network flat rate has only been integrated in the XL model, while all other tariffs have remained at a telecom flat rate. With the new prepaid tariffs – with the exception of the MagentaMobil Prepaid S – customers also have access to the network operator’s 5G network.
The smallest tariff in the portfolio gets the long-awaited data flat rate with the changeover. The tariff used to come without a data volume, but now 500 MB per month are included. But customers also pay more for this: the MagentaMobil Prepaid S tariff then costs EUR 4.95 instead of EUR 2.95. The term for all options is four weeks, i.e. 28 days. The S tariff also includes 50 free minutes in all German networks, including the fixed network. Unlimited calls and texts can still be made in the Telekom network.

The M model also gets an upgrade. Customers get 3 GB of data monthly for EUR 9.95. In the L tariff, the price remains at 14.95 euros for 5 GB. And the MagentaMobil prepaid tariff XL has also improved. In the future, 7 GB will cost 24.95 euros with a four-week term. In short, the following applies to these prepaid tariffs: More data volume for the same price. However, the MagentaMobil Prepaid Max remains unchanged. That means: Unlimited data volume, all-network flat rate and 5G.
5G annual plan also gets an upgrade
There is also a significant improvement in another model. The MagentaMobil Prepaid 5G annual tariff will be equipped with 36 GB in the future. Currently there are still 24 GB. This means that in future customers will have 3 GB of data volume available per month for EUR 99.95 per year if the data volume is spread over 12 months. In addition, customers can look forward to a telephone and SMS flat rate in all German networks and in the fixed network.
Anyone who still has a broadband connection from Telekom can also benefit from the MagentaEINS prepaid advantage. Because starting with the MagentaMobil Prepaid M, you get one GB of data volume free of charge every month.
The new tariffs can be booked in the T-Shop, online at telekom.de, in customer service and in retail. The same applies to existing customers.
