Britney Spears is said to have signed a multi-million dollar book deal in February 2022. In her upcoming work, she wants to capture her past and her relationship with her family in writing for the public. Over the weekend (May 7), the singer took to Instagram to provide an update on the progress of her memoir, which she dubbed a “disclosure report.” The post was deleted a short time later for unknown reasons.

According to NME, Spears wrote in that post that the book would be out in late 2022. After many outsiders tried to tell their story and only published “Schund”, the 40-year-old finally wanted to take the reporting into her own hands. Sources previously reported that Spears would be paid $15 million for writing it.

“I want to talk about secrets!!!” the pop singer wrote in her post. “The secrets I’ve had to keep to myself for the last 15 years are frankly debilitating.” She continued, “I had so many issues that I wanted to get rid of, only to be told to shut up… but wait, isn’t that what a woman with sense should do? Speak up, face the situation and make people think.”
Writing a book is “the easiest way” for her as she is “afraid of people and might have to write them off for the next decade”. In a previous post, Spears revealed that after all the events surrounding her guardianship, she was now afraid of interviews.

“Sit down and tell my story may not be the safest thing for anyone!!!” she continued in her update. “Once it’s out I’m not sure what’s going to happen guys!!!” she also added, intriguingly.
In a similarly deleted post last month, Spears described the writing process as “therapeutic and healing.” She had also expressed the assumption that her stories seemed “childish”, which she blamed on her age at the time. Addressing events from the past few years would probably “seem irrelevant to most” and she was “fully aware of it”.
The pop icon recently announced her third pregnancy. In the future she wanted to go out less in order to avoid the photographers who are active due to the increased media interest, she also announced at the same time. However, she does not seem to have any problems with spicy photos she has taken herself: On Friday (May 6) Spears had only posed for Instagram with a puppy covered. This post followed a series of other revealing photos earlier this year.
