Croatian youth international
FC Bayern’s second team will be strengthened with Antonio Tikvic for the coming season. The 18-year-old central defender will come on a free transfer from the insolvent third division club Türkgücü Munich in the summer and has signed a contract with the record champions until June 30, 2025.
“After Türkgücu’s withdrawal from the third division, Antonio trained with our amateurs for a while and convinced us of his talent at the latest. He is a tall, strong central defender with a good opening, but we also see potential for improvement in the physical components. We are pleased that he has chosen us despite numerous other offers and will wear the Bayern jersey from the coming season,” said Holger Seitz, sporting director at Bayern Campus.
Born in Hamburg, Tikvic played in the youth teams of FC St. Pauli, Hamburger SV and most recently Eintracht Frankfurt before moving to Türkgücü last summer. The left footer made five appearances for the first team in the 3rd division and made his debut for the Croatian U18 national team in March.
