Section of the body of football player Lukoki in investigation into the cause of death

An autopsy will be performed on the body of professional football player Jody Lukoki to find out whether he died as a result of an incident in a home in Almere last week. A spokesperson for the Central Netherlands police reported this on Tuesday. Several media report that he was allegedly assaulted during a party and that his leg had to be amputated as a result of an infection. Lukoki passed away on Monday at the age of 29.

Toxicological testing may also be performed to determine the cause of death. Police have yet to say anything about what may have happened in the home. It can be said that the incident has been reported to the police.

Lukoki played in the Netherlands for Ajax, SC Cambuur and PEC Zwolle. He returned to the Eredivisie at FC Twente last year, but did not play due to a serious knee injury.
