The police are investigating an incident in Flevoland last week in which professional football player Jody Lukoki, who died on Monday, may have been involved, the police confirm after reporting by the NOS. It is also being investigated whether the incident is related to Lukoki’s death. Due to the investigation, the police spokesperson cannot say anything about the incident and the involvement of the former player of, among others, PEC Zwolle and FC Twente.
Lukoki passed away on Monday at the age of 29. His cause of death has not yet been released. In several media, such as Het Parool, it is written that he had been abused and that his leg had to be amputated because of an infection. This has not been confirmed by Lukoki’s family or agent.
