Michael van Gerwen won the European Darts Open in Leverkusen for the fourth time in his career on Sunday. The triple world champion was too strong for Dimitri Van den Bergh in the final battle with 8-5, after he had survived seven match darts in the quarterfinals against Dirk van Duijvenbode (6-5).
