Triathlete Youri Keulen from Spaubeek lost his victory on Saturday in the Ironman of Alcúdia-Mallorca.
The Limburger was disqualified. It would have been Cologne’s first professional victory.
Fourth
In March of this year, Cologne already finished fourth in Miami and in Mallorca Cologne did a little better by crossing the line first after swimming, cycling and running in succession. However, Cologne was told after the finish that he had not served a penalty awarded, as a result of which he was disqualified.
penalty
Cologne says to the website 3athlon that he does not know why he would have received a penalty from the Spanish jury. “I just see myself as the winner and afterwards Ironman came to me to say that they think so too,” said the Limburger, who protested, but lost.
