Update A League
Transfermarkt have revised the Australian A-League market values. The most valuable professional in the league is no longer Daniel Sturridge (32), who posted a minus of 2 million to 600,000 euros and thus even missed the top 20. The former England international has been active for Perth Glory since October last year, for which he has only made six brief appearances without a goal involved due to injury. The Englishman was last at a lower market value level in 2007 when he was still a youth player at Manchester City.
While Sturridge is the biggest loser of this update down a million, Melbourne City FC’s Marco Tilio (20) is a different story. The attacker increases by 600,000 to 900,000 euros and thus increases the most. The Brazilian Daniel Penha (23), who is on loan from CA Mineiro to the Newcastle Jets until the end of the season, also made a big jump of 450,000 euros. The offensive player is one of the top performers at his club and has impressed in 22 games with four goals and eleven assists, making him the best assist provider in the league. His market value is now 750,000 euros – a career high. Penha is thus responsible for around ten percent of his club’s squad value (EUR 7.1 million).
In the A-League, only Brisbane Roar (6.1 million euros) undercuts this, where, among others, the former Hamburger Matti Steinmann (27) is active. Meanwhile, Melbourne City FC (EUR 11.6 million) tops both the squad value ranking and the table and also has the new most valuable player in former Darmstadt player Jamie Maclaren (EUR 28; EUR 1.5 million). the league. However, the striker shares that status with Roderick Miranda, 31, from neighbors Melbourne Victory.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work
The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
