Wolford collaborates with streetwear label GCDS

Wolford is collaborating with the Italian streetwear brand GCDS. The collection includes thirteen styles and combines “Wolford’s 70 years of innovative technological know-how with the trendy style of GCDS,” as the bodywear label wrote in a statement on Thursday.

The women’s collection includes leggings, socks, tops, bodies, underwear and a bodysuit. All items are offered in neutral black and ecru, with some items also available in a light pink.

This is the first athleisure collection for Wolford to include men’s fashion as well as women’s fashion. A pair of leggings, a t-shirt and a pair of shorts have been created that aim to evoke the style of raver culture with a neon green camouflage pattern.

The design of the women’s collection picks up on the graphic patterns and mesh inserts that are characteristic of GCDS. The resulting visual effects put the body in the limelight; Animal prints, tight fits and a mix of materials also appeal to a younger target group. “Thanks to our collaboration with designers, we at Wolford are able to more quickly identify the needs of women – and now men – of the younger generations,” says Siliva Azzalia, Chief Commercial Officer at Wolford.

The campaign that accompanies the women’s collection “shows powerful and strong women of different ages with high femininity and strong sensuality”. Photographer Nadia Lee Cohen describes the collection as “glamorous workout clothes à la Jane Fonda”.

The collection has been available in Wolford and GCDS stores as well as in the two brands’ online shops since Thursday.
