Telstar has offered trainer Andries Jonker a new contract. Jonker was told this on Thursday morning and is considering the proposal.
“It is generally known that I enjoy myself at Telstar and that I have let great opportunities go. But I do read it before I say something about it,” said Jonker. The trainer received the new proposal on Thursday morning. Jonker then went onto the field for the final training session before the away match against Roda JC.
General manager Pieter de Waard did not want to comment on the contract offer.
“I’d much rather be on the field. Actually, you can’t combine it. It’s too much work at the moment”
Trainer and technical director
Jonker is in his third season with Telstar. He combines this with the position of technical director. According to him, this dual function is not ideal. “I much prefer being on the field. I like that much more. You can’t really combine that. It’s way too much work these days. I have good people around me and try to divide the tasks, but it’s not ideal”, Jonker is clear.
