The fourth duo in the race is Renaat Van Rompaey and Djalikhatou Barry. If you want to dial a number with the leden, you will not be asked to do so externally. Both were vandaag dan ook niet aanwezig bij de voorstelling van de candidates.
“Het gaat om twee leden van de partij”, says Almaci. “Bij Groen bestaat de mogelijkheid en de traditie dat iedereen you can present yourself as a candidate. For the sake of it we sell it in such a small way. The new duo will be explicitly directed to the leden. I’m able to talk about it before lifting. Maar het is not aan mijo om te speculateren.” Renaat Van Rompaey and Djalikhatou Barry zijn leden van de partij which nog geen rol van betekenis hebben speeld binnen Groen.
The deadline for the India of the candidatures for the electoral office extended during the day. Toen al was duidelijk dat three duo’s zich in de strijd werpen: Vlaams parlementslid Jeremie Vaneeckhout en Nadja Naji; Flemish parliamentarian Elisabeth Meuleman and Brussels parliamentarian Juan Benjumea-Moreno; en Jenna Boeve en Jad Zeitouni van Jong Groen.
Covoorzitterschap
The duo’s, three keer een man en een vrouw, break with the traditional roll-over of Voorzitter and ondervoorzitter, to the Voorbeeld van de Franstalige zusterpartij Ecolo, and gaan volume for covoorzitterschap.
“The ambition is om het beter te doen dan bij de vorige Verkiezingen”, said Vaneeckhout Wednesday about the ambities van het candidate duo in 2024. “We would like to make the analysis waar we staan als partij. We had den het before the previous verkiezingen beter can doen dan ooit en toch we vastly dat we still not in topvorm zijn. Het tweede duo, Vlaams parliamentslid Elisabeth Meuleman and Brussels parliamentslid Juan Benjumea-Moreno, stapt in de voorzittersrace met the project ‘Hoopvol Groen’. Daarmee leggen ze de nadruk op ‘groei van onderuit’. With a project in mind Meuleman and Moreno het local work in the wrong zones and there are indications of positive changes.
Ook Jong Groen is shared with Jenna Boeve and Jad Zeitouni. “Wijn zijn een beetje atypical in de politiek en will also op een atypical manner aan politiek doen”, zegden both Wednesdays. “He is a hele group mensen by the Groen thuishoort, but that is not the case in te vinden. (…) De coming weken will be paalde vooroordelen aankaarten en opboksen tegen de status quo. We can do it differently.”
The coming end will be followed by a campaign where the candidates can present their project on the leden. Op 11 June kiest de partij dan as Meryem Almaci opvolgt.
