Coach Moyes praises West Ham’s ‘great recovery’

Frankfurt / Main (AP) – West Ham United’s head coach David Moyes is amazed at the development of his team up to a Europa League semi-finalist.

“It wasn’t long ago that we fought relegation. It’s been a great upswing since then and I see no reason why it shouldn’t continue,” Moyes said after arriving in Frankfurt am Main. Eintracht and West Ham are playing for participation in the Europa League final in the 2006 World Cup stadium. This will be held in Seville on May 18th.

The Hessians had won the first leg in London 2-1, and a draw is enough for them in the second leg. “We’re the hunters in this game because we’re a goal behind. But in the same breath, they’re the ones who have to defend the lead,” said Moyes.

A return from central defender Issa Diop, who recently failed with an ankle injury, is conceivable. Diop is “perhaps not at 100 percent”, but in this phase of the season you can sometimes take a bigger risk.
