Vocalist Charles Plogman56, sold his old house to his daughter’s family and moved to a newly renovated, personal terraced house nearby in the center of Mustasaari.
– I didn’t build a studio in my new home anymore. Giving it up has been a big deal, but the small home studio is still there. The look of the new home is modern, I really like it. There are some berry bushes in the yard, but I’m not so much a garden man, Plogman says.
Plogman divorced in 2017 and has since enjoyed being single. The joy in life has been brought about by the fact that the old house remained in the family.

Grandpa
Another special joy is that the man became a grandfather at the turn of the year, a grandfather. The baby boy was given a second name, and the full name of the newcomer to the family is Elvin Charles Leone.
– It was a big deal to get my daughter’s baby in my arms and feel that the family continues. When my own two kids were little, I was a weekend musician, always going. I did day jobs in buildings and forestry work. It was a recession of the 1990s, Plogman recalls.
At the age of 27, Plogman went to Kuula College and Pietarsaari Conservatory to study song theory and music, as the fire to perform was severe. He had been playing guitar in bands since he was a boy.

Sobriety and divorce
Success and great rush came at a price. Itching became a habit and a means of relaxation. Alcohol began to dominate the life of a popular star traveling around the country.
It also affected endurance and gig life. Plogman realized that this could not continue when a couple of times before the performance had to take the bangs, “correcting.”
– I closed the cap on February 12, 2013. It was definitely the best decision of my life. I might not be here if the same spending had continued or worsened, Plogman ponders.
He has recorded that important date and decision in the song Date sun on the skin.
Plogman divorced the mother of her two children in 2017. The separation was a joint decision, and the friendship of the ex-spouses has continued.
– Last Christmas was partly with the others. The ex-wife has visited the village with the other guests in her new apartment a couple of times. I am glad that after years together we do not live in anger. After all, we are now also grandparents, Plogman reminds us.
Versatile entertainer
Plogman has expanded his job description and has been involved in producing and brainstorming the Art and Music Festival on May 20 at Mäntsälä’s famous Hirvihaara Manor. There will be casual togetherness, glass art, literature and of course music.

– At the April boat gig, my tendon suddenly broke my finger in getting dressed. The finger just clicked. I have now recovered from a surprise injury to a finger spatula that needs to be held for six weeks, Plogman says.
In addition, he hosts and sings four Allsång på Skansen-type events in Finnish during the summer.
– I don’t smoke, I don’t dock, I have a new home and my daughter has a baby boy, yes Charlie’s good, energetic Plogman is happy.
