The veteran remains – Thomas Müller extends until 2024

While the talks are still stalling with Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller is going through with it. The national player stays with FC Bayern. The new contract term is also known.

National player Thomas Müller will stay with FC Bayern. As the club announced on Tuesday, the 32-year-old is extending his contract by two years until 2024. Müller’s original contract would have expired next summer. The 2014 World Champion has been playing for the “Reds” since the age of ten.

The club bosses have repeatedly emphasized in recent weeks how important a new contract is for the offensive man. CEO Oliver Kahn commented on the news with the words: “Thomas Müller is a figure of identification who carries our club’s coat of arms in his heart. FC Bayern has always been characterized by continuity, and that’s why we’re happy that we’ve succeeded, even with this one important player. He’s someone who takes the lead and he’s also an important character in the dressing room with his style.”

Müller himself is also happy about his new contract: “The path we have shared since I switched to the FCB youth team in 2000 has been a fantastic success story so far. I really enjoy seeing the red colors on and off the field every year up on the pitch. Even when the wind blows in your face. So let’s keep tackling it together!”

In total, Müller played 624 games for the FC Bayern pros, scoring 226 goals and preparing 242 more. Since his professional debut in 2008, he has collected twelve championship titles, six successes in the DFB Cup and two Champions League titles. More will be added in the future.
