Hertha professionals have been boycotting the fan curve for two games! They didn’t celebrate the last victories with the supporters. Because three weeks ago, the Ultras players were humiliated after the 1: 4 in the derby against Union: They should take off their jerseys because they are not worth wearing them.
Franz Zander (80), cult singer of the Hertha anthem “Just home…” can understand both sides: “Now both sides have shown their elbows and kicked their shins. But that’s enough for now! Both have to appear together again, only as a unit can you prevent relegation.”
Zander has the last one Derby bust witnessed firsthand. “I was last in the east curve against Union, the game and the result hurt, it felt like the low point of the season and almost relegation. But Hertha got the curve again.”
Zander’s hope is that both sides will come closer this season. And he offers a surprising solution: “In the last home game against Mainz, I would like to appear between the curve and the Hertha team – with our anthem between the two sides to reconnect.”
