“The gold is to compete again”

The Spanish Caroline Marinwho this Saturday was proclaimed European badminton champion in Madrid for the sixth consecutive time, declared that the gold, after a serious injury that has kept her eleven months away from the courts, has been “to compete again”.

Carolina Marin won 21-10 and 21-12 in the final played on the Gallur track in Madrid over the Scottish Kirsty Gilmour in just 41 minutes.

“I wanted to thank each of the people who are here because it has been incredible to play in Madrid. I have won this gold but also the whole team and without all of you I would not have achieved it”, he said Carolinafrom the center of the track.
