Suppers remove about 300 kg of waste from the water on a journey of 240 km
Wim Pyl and his fellow suppers paddle from Diksmuide Nieuwpoort. Along the way, they remove as much waste and plastic from the water as possible. “PET bottles remain a very big problem. We also want to draw extra attention to this. Yesterday we made a hose from 400 PET bottles behind our plate, good for 50 meters,” says waste supper Wim Pyl.
The paddlers have brought more than 300 kg of waste ashore so far. Wim Pyl already did the same trip five years ago. He fears that the problem has only grown in the meantime.
