Title race women’s Eredivisie remains exciting after Ajax win and VV Alkmaar’s ear washing

Ajax Women has booked a win against sc Heerenveen tonight. The number two in the Eredivisie won 2-0 in Friesland. Leader FC Twente settled very simply at home with VV Alkmaar and set a cheerful score: 7-0.

Heerenveen received Ajax in the Abe Lenstra Stadium. Romée Leuchter scored in the 21st minute with a wonderful bang in the corner. Stefanie van der Gragt from Heerhugowaard doubled the lead after more than an hour.

The team of trainer Danny Schenkel also has three points less than FC Twente after today. VV Alkmaar turned out to be cannon fodder in Enschede due to hits from Fenna Kalma (3), Caitlin Dijkstra (2), Renate Janssen, Kayleigh van Dooren.

On Friday evening, May 20, the two title candidates will play against each other in Amsterdam in the last round. For the next two weeks, PEC Zwolle and Feyenoord will be the opponents of Ajax Women. FC Twente will meet ADO Den Haag and PSV.
