The campaign to buy Chelsea seems to have come to an end after weeks of negotiations. English media like that “Telegraph” and “Sky Sports” all report Friday that a consortium led by billionaire LA Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly won the bid.
Bidding was open until shortly before the end, a last-minute offer from entrepreneur Sir Jim Ratcliffe for a reported £4.5 billion, the equivalent of around EUR 5 billion, was rejected because the Chelsea board did not consider him a suitable owner was viewed. Nothing is known about the amount of the offer from Boehly, which ultimately won the contract.
The previous owner, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, had put the London-based club up for sale before being hit with harsh sanctions by the British government for its close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who also ranked Chelsea – the fourth most valuable team in the world – met.

Last week the number of possible buyers from English media was already limited to three, including a consortium led by Martin Broughton, the former chairman of British Airways, who, among other things, includes former Olympic track and field champion Sebastian Coe, long-time tennis world number one Serena Williams and Formula 1 record world champion Lewis Hamilton belonged.
