After FC Schalke 04 was considered a firm buyer for the defensive talent, a Bundesliga competitor could apparently also have won the race.
The “Abendzeitung” reported early on Tuesday evening that FC Schalke 04 had made the race for Sean Dulic from TSV 1860 Munich. The 21-year-old will therefore sign his new contract in Gelsenkirchen “in a few hours or days”. But according to “Sky” there is no truth to the speculation about a move to Gelsenkirchen – quite the opposite.
As the pay-TV broadcaster reports with reference to its own sources, the defender is drawn to the Bundesliga, but not to the second division champions. Accordingly, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim has secured the services of the sought-after U20 national player. It is said that Dulic has agreed with the Europa League participant from Kraichgau that he will complete his medical check there on Wednesday.
FC Schalke 04 will probably come away empty-handed
If the youngster passes this, he should be provided with a working paper until 2030. Dulic made it into the professional squad with the Sixzgers in 2024/25, and last season he made 23 appearances in the 3rd league. Dulic scored one goal and prepared two more goals. Because of the Lions’ forced relegation, he is on the market for a free transfer.
Since the Lions have not received a license for the upcoming third division season and will therefore only compete in the fourth-tier Regionalliga Bayern in 2026/27, Dulic is allowed to leave TSV free of charge. Despite a contract until the end of June 2028, the people of Munich are left with nothing more than training compensation.
