The police arrested a 19-year-old Zaandammer last night after a dangerous chase on the A4. Several reports came in about a driver who drove around with a nitrous oxide balloon in his mouth. The man’s car ended up in the ditch after colliding with the police car.
A motorist saw the man swinging towards the center of Hoofddorp around 5.30 pm and raised the alarm with the police. Officers searched but could not find him. After a second report, they did catch him in sight.
After ignoring a stop sign from the police, the chase was started at Burgemeester Pabstlaan. He swerved across the road at high speed, ignoring the red traffic light several times. “To prevent accidents, the pursuit was stopped for a while, but was later picked up on the A4,” the police writes. facebook†
