The three parties that are negotiating a new coalition in the municipality of De Wolden have left. Municipal interests will be joined in the council for the next four years by PvdA and D66. Tonight, formateur Frits Alberts will report in the meeting of the city council.
This means that the VVD will permanently disappear from the council, alderman Hilda Mulder will be a regular councilor again for the next four years. the VVD lost two of the four seats. That this new coalition was on its way became clear shortly after the elections when informateur Josee Gehrke clearly indicated in her advice that the coalition of Municipal Interests, PvdA and D66 had her preference. GB-VVD was mentioned as a second option, after which the CDA wondered disappointed why that party was not mentioned, despite three seats. Formateur Frits Alberts, former alderman in Borger-Odoorn, set to work with the advice.
The big question is what will happen with the interpretation of the third alderman. With nine seats, it is likely that Gerrie Hempen and Egbert van Dijk will return to the college. D66 and PvdA both have one seat in the municipal council and would then have to share a third alderman post. More information about that may follow tonight.
