Police are sharing images of the accident on Facebook, in the hope that witnesses will come forward. A passenger car appears to hit the van, after which it rolls over. The passenger car then drives on. The driver did not report. Police are looking for the car and possible witnesses to the accident.
Doctors who happened to pass by gave first aid while waiting for the fire and ambulance service, and then stayed to assist the paramedics. Because the two occupants of the bus were trapped, the vehicle had to be cut open. Both people, a 66-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, were rushed to hospital.
