Lys surprisingly beat Golubic
The day before, the German champion from the Hamburg club on the Alster had impressed in her first WTA main draw match. In three contested sets, Lys beat the world number 38 after a good three hours. Viktorija Golubic claims.
Born in Kyiv, Lys is currently only 342 in the world rankings, but will improve significantly. The talent had received a wild card for the qualification for the high-class Stuttgart indoor sand court tournament.
