Green light for Venlo golf course | 1Limburg

The construction of a golf course and nature reserve at Greenport Venlo has been given the green light. The objections against this Parc Zaarderheiken have been declared unfounded by the Council of State.

The site of over 250 hectares will be set up as a nature and recreation area. Part of the old heath landscape will be restored. There will also be an 18-hole golf course, water features will be restored and a pavilion for recreationists will be built.

Location
The park will partly be located on the former Floriade site, just west of the Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo. The warehouses of the Trade Port West business park are located on the south side of the green area.

Construction of the park
The park was approved by the Venlo city council two years ago. Construction had already started on plots of land for which no proceedings had been initiated. In the original plan, the site was to be completed in 2023.
