The LYCRA Company – Collaboration with Amsterdam’s Jean School and House of Denim for a special exhibition

The LYCRA Company, a global leader in developing innovative and sustainable fiber and technology solutions for the textile and apparel industry, will be exhibiting at Kingpins Amsterdam April 20-21, 2022 in SugarCity. Following a virtual trade show in 2021, the company is excited to physically unveil its latest denim innovations, including LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber and LYCRA® DUAL COMFORT technology, as well as customer collections featuring these industry-leading innovations.

LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber is made from a revolutionary, patent-pending polymer with a unique chemistry that allows it to hybrid adapt to the functional needs of the wearer. While the wearer is stationary, the polymer adjusts its compression strength to ensure proper fit, fit and control. On the other hand, when the wearer moves, the polymer adjusts its elasticity for greater comfort and a “second skin effect” that allows for a perfect fit. Jeans, thanks to LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber, can adapt to fit many different body shapes within a size range.

In February of this year, The LYCRA Company launched LYCRA® DUAL COMFORT Technology, a sustainable innovation in wovens that combines easy stretch and cooling comfort with durable shape retention. This latest innovation transforms the apparel categories by offering these functional performance benefits along with a sustainable feature through the use of new LYCRA® T400® A EcoMade fiber. This new fiber is made from recycled and renewable material, which helps reduce the environmental impact compared to virgin fibers.

The company will also showcase sustainable innovations at the show, including COOLMAX® EcoMade technology, which wicks moisture for cooling, and THERMOLITE® EcoMade technology, which provides lightweight warmth. Both fibers can be made from 100% textile waste or 100% recycled PET. In addition, The LYCRA Company’s various stretch fiber technologies will be presented, including LYCRA® XTRA LIFE® fiber, LYCRA® dualFX® and LYCRA® lastingFIT technologies, as well as LYCRA® Anti-Slip and LYCRA® T400® fibers.

“We are delighted that Kingpins Amsterdam is back in physical form, allowing visitors to see and touch the fabric and garment samples live and thereby experience our innovative fiber and technology solutions in person,” says Ebru Ozaydin, Strategic Marketing Director – Denim and Ready-to-Wear – The LYCRA Company. “The LYCRA® brand fibers have played a crucial role in many of the most popular denim trends. As the denim fashion merry-go-round continues to turn, our team develops innovative solutions that help jeans deliver the performance, fit and power consumers need to support their lifestyle.”

In addition, The LYCRA Company has launched an additional exhibition at Kingpins Amsterdam in collaboration with the House of Denim Foundation and the Jean School in Amsterdam. Under the title “Stretch Yourself: Denim of the Future, Designed by Gen Z”, new jeans silhouettes designed by students for Generation Z will be presented.

The collection includes jeans made with LYCRA® dualFX®, LYCRA® FREEF!T®, and LYCRA® T400® EcoMade branded fiber technologies developed by some of the world’s finest denim weavers: Advance, Bossa, Calik, DNM, Naveena, Orta and Soorty. To learn more about the fabric of each weaving mill, visitors can scan the QR codes on the jeans. The exhibition is on the second level next to the restaurant.

“Our collaboration with the House of Denim Foundation and The Jean School will open a path to commercialize fiber technologies that inspire brands and retailers and help them create new jeans for the Gen Z lifestyle,” adds Helen Latham, Senior Strategic Account Managers, The LYCRA Company.
