You’re looking at someone’s stories, they upload a post and you love the outfit they’re wearing. You want to know where you bought it, but you don’t know how to check it. Has this ever happened to you? Well, now you can consult it without problems thanks to the product labeling.

Since yesterday Instagram has launched its product tagging feature as something available to all Instagram users, as long as they have a public account. Before it was only reserved for influencers and business accounts.

So even with your personal account, your selfies and other photos can now include product labels that your followers can use to learn more about the product and buy it (in the app or through a product detail page).

The new function is currently available in the Android mobile application, although at the moment not all businesses or all products are ready to use this functionality, and even less so in our country. It is expected that little by little it will change.

HOW TO TAG PRODUCTS IN YOUR INSTAGRAM POSTS

  • Step #1: Create a photo post and click on the arrow in the upper right corner until you reach the photo captions page.
  • Step #2: On the caption page, tap Tag People.
  • Step #3 – Find the brand or retailer you want to tag, then select them to tag.
  • Step #4: Once tagged, the bottom of the screen should display two options: People and Products. Select Products.
  • Step #5: Click on your photo and then start searching for the products you want to add. Click on the ones you want to appear in the drop-down list of products.
  • Step #6: Tap the check mark icon at the top right to confirm your choice.
  • Step #7: Tap the check mark or Share icon at the top right to publish your post.
