SVZ steals victory in the final seconds against Actief

The game seemed to end in a bloodless draw, but in the absolute final phase defender Mark Ybema SVZ heads to victory: 1-0. With the win, SVZ from Zeijen strengthens its lead in the third division B and Actief pulls out for the time being in the title fight.

On a sunny Easter Monday, there was a lot at stake for the number 1 and number 3 of the competition. The winner would take a big step towards a possible championship. The tension that this entailed was clearly visible in the first half. Active leaned back and let SVZ make the game, without creating great opportunities.

In the second half, both teams seemed content with a draw. The positional play was not good and the 200 supporters saw few opportunities. Until Mark Ybema crowned himself match winner and headed SVZ to victory. Immediately afterwards, the referee whistled for the end of the game.

With the win, SVZ opens a gap of three points with the number two, GSAVV Forward. Active drops to fourth place and sees the gap on SVZ rise to five points.
