At 5: 4 at SC Verl
Baris Atik (27) from 1. FC Magdeburg has set a record in the 3rd division. Thanks to his two assists in the spectacular 5: 4 at SC Verl, the attacker improved his record this season to 36 goals (18 goals/18 assists), making him the first professional in third-division history to reach such a mark. So far, Dominik Stroh-Engel (36) in 2013/14 for SV Darmstadt 98 and Marc Schnatterer (36) in 2012/13 for 1. FC Heidenheim have held the top scores with 34 goals each.
Record for Atik: Most scorers in a 3rd division season
In general, only nine players managed to score 30 goals in one season. Sascha Mölders (37) even managed to do this twice. The striker scored 30 points for TSV 1860 Munich in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons. Now Atik still has four matchdays to improve his record. The attacker has been active for 1. FC Magdeburg since January 2021, for which he has made 50 appearances (26 goals/27 assists) so far. Already last season he proved his skills with 15 goals in 15 appearances before he was even able to improve this season.
In the most recent market value update, Atik was one of the winners when he recorded an increase from 550,000 to currently 650,000 euros and is now the most valuable Magdeburger. Atik would be available on a free transfer from the summer as his contract expires. In the TM rumor mill, he is associated with Union Berlin, among others.
The assist came from Baris Atik – congratulations, Baris, on 18 goals and 17 assists and setting the third division record.
