Hockey players in Amsterdam struggle to reach the EHL final

The hockey players of Amsterdam will play the final of the Euro Hockey League (EHL) on Monday. In the semi-final battle, the team of coach Robert Tigges defeated the Spanish Junior FC 2-1.

In the final, Amsterdam will face Den Bosch, which already dealt with Belgian champion Gantoise from Ghent (2-0) on Saturday. Den Bosch won the first edition of the EHL for women last year.

Junior FC started the game better in Amstelveen. After a few missed opportunities, Maialen Garcia managed to score in the 17th minute. Floor de Haan seemed to equalize before half time, but she missed a penalty shot.

Fay van der Elst brought Amsterdam alongside at the start of the second half. Freeke Moes took the winning goal by hitting Amsterdam’s third penalty shot.
