The Donots provided one of the first big surprise moments of the festival’s 30th anniversary on Friday evening (June 19th) at the Hurricane Festival. During their performance on the Forest Stage, the punk rockers conjured up a celebrity guest who also had a special announcement to make.
Donots singer Ingo Knollmann rose into the crowd during the concert. The social media magic combo Siegfried & Joy from Berlin were already waiting there. The duo spread out their golden magic cloth and conjured up Jakob Amr, singer of the Kiel indie rock band Leoniden, on the striped piano. Together with the Donots and the audience, he sang the cover song “We’re Not Gonna Take It”.
This secret act plays at Hurricane on Saturday
However, the surprise wasn’t over yet. At the end of the guest appearance, Amr dropped the real bombshell: The Leonids have finished a new album. He initially did not reveal any further information about the title or release date.
The singer announced news that should be even more exciting for visitors to the Hurricane Festival: The Leonids will play a previously unannounced secret set on Saturday (June 20th).
The performance is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. on the Wild Coast Stage. In the regular schedule, RØRY’s concert ends there at this point before Canadian country musician Orville Peck takes over at 7:45 p.m. The Leonids thus fill the one-hour gap between the two performances.
The Hurricane Festival turns 30 years old
The Hurricane Festival will take place from June 19th to 21st, 2026 at the Eichenring in Scheeßel. This year the festival celebrates its 30th anniversary. It will be the fourth appearance for Leoniden on the farm in Lower Saxony: after celebrated sets in 2025 and 2024, the musicians were already guests in Scheeßel in 2019. Also on the program on Saturday are acts such as Nothing But Thieves, Papa Roach, Twenty One Pilots, Florence + The Machine, Finch and SSIO. Further highlights follow on Sunday with Halsey, Billy Talent, A Day To Remember, Clueso, Empire Of The Sun, Provinz, Boys Noize and Modeselektor before the anniversary edition comes to an end in Scheeßel.
