The pictures from Friday at the Southside Festival 2026.
The first day of Southside Festival 2026 began with great heat and ended prematurely for many visitors in their cars. Due to an official storm warning, the festival site in Neuhausen ob Eck had to be completely cleared on Friday evening. At this point, A Day To Remember had just begun their performance.
Shortly before 8 p.m., the Nina app warned of severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail and possible gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour. The organizers then asked the audience to leave the stage areas and seek shelter in vehicles. Anyone who arrived without their own car should stay with other festival guests. Free spaces were signaled with hazard warning lights switched on.

Luckily the big storm didn’t happen
The feared storm front could ultimately be seen on the site, especially in the distance. Instead, persistent rain set in. After almost two hours, the all-clear finally came: the program could continue from 10 p.m. However, several canceled concerts could no longer be integrated into the already tight schedule. The shows of A Day To Remember, Clueso, Filow and RØRY were not rescheduled.
Performances by Halsey and other acts could still take place late in the evening. Most importantly, all visitors, crew and acts were safe.
The festival management praised the audience’s quick and disciplined reaction. “You are absolute legends for reacting so well and acting accordingly,” it said on the official WhatsApp channel. The caution is probably also related to the experiences from 2016: At that time, 25 people were injured in a severe storm on the Southside and the rest of the festival was canceled.
