Selcuk had just gotten home from a padel match when he received a call from a member of his gym who lives opposite the building. Why is he calling me so late, he thought. What turned out? A huge explosion set his blown-up gym in Osdorp on fire.
After four days, Selcuk still struggles to realize what exactly happened. “I can’t realize it yet,” he says.

Around 12:15 am things went completely wrong at the Remijden in Osdorp. Under the gym, where there are storage lockers, a group of boys most likely made explosives for explosives. Today it became clear that the Public Prosecution Service suspects two Amsterdam residents aged 23 and 24 of involvement,
Several explosives went off during that process, which had enormous consequences. The building above collapsed, seven people were injured and 400 local residents were evacuated. Two seriously injured people were arrested in hospital, they were working in the box.
