Eintracht Frankfurt can continue to rely on its sports director. Markus Krösche will not move to AC Milan and will stay with the Bundesliga club.
Markus Krösche will stay at Eintracht Frankfurt and will not move to AC Milan. Corresponding media reports coincide with information from hr-sport. Eintracht sports director Krösche was recently courted by the traditional Milan club and was supposed to take over the position of “Head of Football” there. Italian media reported even from a verbal agreementthere has already been speculation about a possible transfer.
After a disappointing season with missing out on the Champions League places in Serie A, coach Massimiliano Allegri as well as the managing director, sports director and technical director of Milan had to leave. The Rossoneri have now hired the Portuguese Rúben Amorim as coach, and former Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner was also considered a candidate in reports.
“I’m not one to run away”
Instead, Krösche stays in Frankfurt. Although several media outlets report an offer from AC Milan to Krösche, there are said to have been no concrete negotiations. The 45-year-old still has a contract in Frankfurt until 2028. After the difficult last season, Krösche said just four weeks ago: “I’m not one to run away.” Shortly afterwards, Krösche introduced the new coach Adi Hütter.
A short-term change in the sports director would have had a serious impact on the Hessians. Krösche currently has to put together the squad for the coming season, with national player Nathaniel Brown, who is due to move to Bayern Munich in the coming days, the first blockbuster transfer.
