The story has been going around in the neighborhood for a long time that preparations for explosions were the background to the explosion. The Public Prosecution Service now also calls this ‘the most important scenario’.
Both suspects are also suspected of causing an explosion endangering goods and people and possessing packages containing explosives. The Public Prosecution Service has now also confirmed that the two Amsterdam residents were injured.
Third suspect released
“For privacy reasons, the Public Prosecution Service cannot make any statements about the severity of the injuries at this time,” the Public Prosecution Service said. “The main scenario that the police are now looking at is whether there were criminal activities involving explosives. This is now being further investigated by the criminal investigation department.”
A third person is still a suspect, but is allowed to await further investigation in freedom.
