Football fans cannot stop talking on Wednesday about the assist of Luka Modric in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The Croatian star of Real Madrid led the 1-3 of Rodrygo against Chelsea with a beautiful pass.
Real made a comparison with the Mona Lisa shortly after reaching the last four. In the edited photo, the Mona Lisa in the Louvre has given way to a photo of Modric, who lets the ball depart from the outside of his foot.
“Modric’s 25-meter pass with outside foot can go straight to the museum. He brought Madrid back to life with a flash of class. His performance at the age of 36 is unique in football,” Marca also wrote in the newspaper.

“That was just illegal, that ball. I was just screaming. Luka, Muka, whatever! Just phenomenal,” analyst Rio Ferdinand said in the studio. “I lost my voice because of that pass from Modric!”
Modric’s pass was also widely reported on social media. “What is art, what is art? Modric’s pass is art!”, wrote the Belgian former international Franky Van der Elst.
Real lost 3-2 to Chelsea after extra time, but that was enough after the previous 3-1 victory to still go to the semi-finals.
