The accident took place around 6 p.m. According to witnesses, one of the victims suffered broken ribs and a head wound and the other suffered abrasions on the arms, hand and leg.

According to witnesses, the driver, although it could also have been the co-driver, gave a telephone number that allegedly belonged to himself to the victims. Then he drove away. When officers called the number, it turned out to belong to someone who had nothing to do with the collision.

A police spokesperson cannot confirm the story about the telephone number, but does say that the driver was indeed gone when officers arrived. “We are investigating. If anyone knows who the driver is, or has a license plate or camera images, we would like to hear about it and it will certainly help these victims.”

The two cyclists were taken to hospital by ambulance.
