Shortly before the first training session in Kansas City, England’s national team apparently had important materials stolen. The police are investigating.

Equipment from the England World Cup team was stolen before they moved into the training camp in Kansas City. Unidentified people broke into vehicles that were transporting balls and soccer shoes to the Swope Soccer Village. Kansas City police are investigating.

The English Football Association confirmed to the British news agency Press Association that there had been an incident. He did not provide any further information, saying it was a police matter.

Kansas City police say they are investigating a suspected theft from a team vehicle that arrived that evening. The authorities told the Daily Mail newspaper. The investigation was still ongoing. According to the BBC, two people were apparently arrested.

Coach Thomas Tuchel’s team had previously completed a training camp in Florida. The team is scheduled to train for the first time at the Swope Soccer Village on Saturday afternoon (local time). England’s first World Cup group game takes place on Wednesday against Croatia (from 10 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online). Other opponents in Group L are Ghana and Panama.
