Rob Geus disappeared from the screen for nine years. He was discarded by SBS 6, but now the judge is back and he has a taste for it. “I now have the energy for it again.”
Nine years ago, Rob Geus disappeared from Dutch television. Not with much fanfare, not with a big farewell, he was simply no longer there at a certain point. In January, the chef-presenter returned to SBS6 with De Hygiëne Politie, a program in which he puts catering establishments to the hygiene yardstick.
Get a taste
It became in no time sold to Belgium, Rob says in the Party. “Yes, after four weeks. In the past I have also appeared in Belgium with De Smaakpolitie. Six years in total. De Smaakpolitie is still running there now. With the Belgian Rob Geus. It is a great success. That is very nice.”
Will it remain with the Hygiene Police or is he also working on new programs? “There are some ideas going on. I’ve got a taste for it again, so who knows. For a few years I really thought: TV was fine, but now I really have the energy for it again, the desire for it.”
Offer help
For a few years, Rob had the feeling that TV was all right. That feeling is over. He wants to become a real A-star again. “I think offering help is very important. The Hygiene Police is a program in which I, together with the team I create it with, really go to great lengths to help people.”
What does he think about the fact that he also causes a lot of irritation among people? “Some people appreciate it, others don’t. That just makes the program fun.”
