The second Slam of the season closed with Zverev’s success in Paris, minds immediately turned to the third date on English grass: and Jannik has a new rival

Taking advantage of Alcaraz’s absence and Sinner’s immediate exit for physical reasons, the German Zverev finally won his first Slam in Paris by beating our Cobolli in a very tight final. And the Roman could now become Jannik’s rival on grass too. Let’s find out the Sinner winning odds at Wimbledon, a tournament scheduled from 29 June to 12 July.

SINNER WIMBLEDON WINNING ODDS

Zverev, therefore, hit the target that was missing from his palmares: he had lost the Slam finals three times, in 2020 at the US Open, in 2024 in Paris and in 2025 in Melbourne. This time, at Roland Garros, he managed to win the trophy by beating Flavio Cobolli in the final in the fifth set, who entered the Top 10 thanks to this sensational result. And the German and the Roman could become the main rivals of Jannik Sinner, ready to return to Wimbledon where he will defend the 2025 title and 2000 points for the ATP ranking.

Sinner has just concluded a holiday in Sardinia with his partner Laila and will now resume his preparations in view of his return to English grass. Already after the illness that had caused the defeat against Cerundolo jr in Paris, the world number one had announced that he would not participate in any tournament before Wimbledon, giving up a test on grass. Obviously Jannik will arrive in London a few days before the start of the Slam (29 June) in order to regain confidence with the new surface after a few months on clay, where he had won Monte Carlo, Madrid and Rome.

Sinner’s second consecutive victory at Wimbledon seems almost obvious for the bookies of the main betting sites: odds of 1.50 on Snai, Starcasinò and Starvegas, 1.45 on Admiralbet. Zverev, who conquered Paris, however, is between 9.00 and 10.00 behind Djokovic (4.50).

COBOLLI’S APPLICATION

Flavio achieved the best result of his career by reaching the Slam final in Paris, where he lost in the fifth set due to a physical breakdown that prevented him from countering Zverev’s aggressive game. Thanks to this result, however, the Roman tennis player entered the Top 10, demonstrating that he can compete with the best. Cobolli’s goal, obviously, is to enter the Finals in Turin, where the top eight of the season’s race will play. After Paris, Flavio placed himself in fourth place.

At Wimbledon the Italian will have to defend last season’s quarter-finals, when he lost to Djokovic: it won’t be easy considering that grass isn’t exactly his favorite surface but the leap in quality made in Paris can give the Roman a further boost from a mental point of view.

Despite the Roland Garros Slam final, bookies still don’t believe in Cobolli’s chances of success which is on the board at 66.00 on Snai and 60.00 on Admiralbet, Starvegas and Starcasinò.
