FPS Home Affairs warns: apply for a Kids ID for the summer holidays in time to avoid an expensive emergency procedure

With the summer holidays approaching, the FPS Home Affairs emphasizes on Friday the importance of applying for a Kids ID in a timely manner. The electronic identity document for children under the age of 12 is not mandatory in Belgium. So you will not receive a notice from the municipality for this. But anyone traveling abroad with children under the age of 12 within the EU does need a Kids ID.
