The municipality of Staden received a report of a noticeable fly-tipping in Vrijbosstraat on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. Car seats and a front bumper were found on the site. Photos of the fly-tipping are circulating on Facebook. Special detail: the waste was dumped right next to a sign saying “I keep it clean here. Don’t you?”
Because the waste was dumped on private property, the owners immediately filed a complaint with the police. In the meantime, Alderman for Waste Policy Bonny Vergauwe went on site to examine the situation.
“This is an unfortunate and exceptional incident,” says Vergauwe. “The owners acted correctly by immediately filing a complaint with the police. We understand that this is an unpleasant situation for them and the neighborhood.”
The police are now investigating who is responsible for the fly-tipping.
