FC Bayern is the measure of all things in Germany, and the Munich team doesn’t have to shy away from comparison worldwide. France’s football legend Theirry Henry commands massive respect.
Former French world-class striker Thierry Henry raved highly about FC Bayern and gave the German record champions the best possible certificate in terms of personnel planning.
“If you look at the players they sign, it’s not always about big names. They bring in footballers who fit their identity. That’s exactly why it works,” Henry enthused about the Munich team in the “Sports Illustrated” interview.
Unlike other clubs, FC Bayern sometimes reject great players or coaches if they don’t fit in with the club. “They remain true to their philosophy,” said the Frenchman.
Why Kompany is the right person for FC Bayern
Henry attributed a very special direct hit to FC Bayern with Vincent Kompany. “You have to give the Bayern management a lot of credit for signing him despite Burnley’s relegation because they saw something in him that fits the club’s identity. That was a smart decision.”
The Belgian always tells his players “very clearly” what he demands from them. “He doesn’t hesitate and when he says something, he means it. He is a strong leader and has proven that he can deliver when you give him the right players,” analyzed Henry.
“I have always admired FC Bayern”
According to Henry, this clarity has also been regularly seen on the pitch at FC Bayern in recent years. The ex-professional said it was often a “pleasure” to watch players like Musiala, Olise, Kane and Co. Ultimately, all of this is just the result of good, sensible and sustainable planning.
“I have always admired FC Bayern for the way the club is run. Former players like Franck Ribéry, Willy Sagnol and Bixente Lizarazu spoke highly of Bayern, the club, the fans and the mentality – actually everything,” said Henry.
