With JOYCE & JADEN, CROSS Jeans is taking a step further towards sustainability this year and is expanding the portfolio to include existing denim fits now made from organic and recycled cotton. With the aim of making the entire production process more sustainable step by step, the Berlin denim label expanded its portfolio last year with the new edition of the denim bestsellers ANYA & JUDY. In addition to the denim fits, denim shirts and shorts are also getting a material upgrade just in time for the new season.
The cultivation of conventional cotton is resource-intensive and is associated with a high environmental impact. The reuse of existing fabrics not only avoids additional textile waste, but also reduces the use of chemicals and saves water and energy. Recycled cotton has the same wearing properties as cotton – although the fibers are shorter, the fabric is still absorbent, breathable and washable. The fibers are usually mixed with new, longer cotton fibers so that the denim fabric remains hard-wearing and tear-resistant. The recycled cotton from CROSS Jeans is certified with the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
Meanwhile, CROSS Jeans’ organic cotton offers a more environmentally friendly and sustainable production approach compared to conventionally grown cotton. By eliminating the use of pesticides and synthetic crop protection products, fewer toxic chemicals are released into the environment through the soil. The more efficient irrigation during cultivation can also save up to 91% water – that’s about 2,180 liters of water per pair of jeans. CROSS Jeans’ organic cotton is certified with the Organic Content Standard (OCS) and the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), thus contributing to a healthier planet.
For the coming season, CROSS Jeans plans to further expand the portfolio and also to further increase the proportion of organic raw materials in the materials and fabrics supplied.
JOYCE
The new edition of the classic mom jeans JOYCE flatters the female figure thanks to the high waistband. Due to the tapered leg silhouette and the loose fit, the denim classic is particularly comfortable and suitable for everyday use. In the light wash it is an absolute must-have for the spring wardrobe and can be easily combined with casual shirts and sweaters.
MARISA—SHORTS
Temperatures are rising and summer is fast approaching. In spring/summer 2022, CROSS Jeans is launching Bermuda shorts in delicate off-white with the shortened version of the existing MARISA model. The shorts can be easily combined with print shirts or thin sweaters in spring and summer. The fringed hem gives the shorts their casual look.
DENIM SHIRT
A well-fitting denim shirt belongs in every wardrobe. The timeless classic looks dressed and casual at the same time and gives every outfit an urban look. CROSS Jeans is launching a denim shirt made from 100% organic cotton in spring 2022. Thanks to the soft material and the straight cut of the shirt, it is comfortable to wear on the skin and can easily be combined with earthy colors such as khaki – or for the daring with the same denim tone for an all-denim look.
JADEN
Cozy and yet stylish – the tapered fit of the JADEN is slightly wider around the hips and thighs and is therefore particularly comfortable to wear. The wedge denim style is suitable for casual looks and can be combined with checked shirts or denim jackets for an all-over denim look.
