A 35-year-old man from Oss who is suspected of involvement in the death of a 47-year-old youth coach from Berghem was previously given a TBS with conditions due to a serious threat. In August 2023, he threatened someone with a knife at Ede station, under the influence of hallucinations caused by schizophrenia. The suspect will be arraigned on Tuesday in connection with the death of the youth leader, whose body was found in a ditch on Friday. The victim was a respected volunteer at Berghem Sport football club, where all home games were canceled out of mourning. You can read the whole story here.

Lawyer Geert-Jan Knoops has been given a conditional suspension of four weeks by the Amsterdam Discipline Council. The disciplinary board blames the Eindhoven lawyer for not having warned a client in a sexual offense case in writing about the risks of a significantly changed statement. In addition, Knoops ‘invoiced excessively’ – almost 96,000 euros too much – without providing a prior cost estimate or monthly time sheets. At the barracks in Oirschot, Defense has converted a Fennek armored car into a mobile chicken coop – a protection cage against enemy drones. The 132 Recovery Platoon developed the prototype on its own initiative, inspired by lessons from the war in Ukraine. The cage consists of hardware store chicken wire and is attached without permanent modifications to the vehicle, so it can be easily removed.
