It really rarely happens in the media world, but Beau van Erven Dorens and Humberto Tan just did it: when it became known that they will be replaced by Renze Klamer this autumn, they started incessantly bashing their direct RTL 4 colleague in the media. Extremely unprofessional and of course detrimental to the entire company.

Bullet through church

What does Beau think about this being the last broadcast week of RTL Tonight? “I have to be honest: it is a bit of a liberation. Crazy, isn’t it? I think: okay, let’s get it over with. There has been so much fuss about it and I have to say: I have been somewhat responsible for that myself, because I am also human and emotional.”

He continues RTL Boulevard: “When the decision was made and we stopped and Leonie, Humberto and I had to leave the field, yes, then you are initially – everyone will recognize that – emotional.”

Small biotope

Beau is sad that his career as a talk show host is over. “I actually always wanted to do it to be at the center of society. We are in a very small biotope where everyone is busy with news all day long. We have done a lot.”

Would he like to raid again? “I never say ‘never’, because I also like a talk show like that because it is live. Just like with Boulevard. It’s just fantastic. Anything can happen. There are a lot of things I’m already doing and I already have some new plans, but I can’t say that yet. I’m not done yet.”

Contact Renze?

Will he look for his successor Renze? “Of course. That is also something: I just want the channel to do well, I want the program to do well. We have now lost a year. You just don’t want that.”

Have they had any contact yet? “No, no, no, no, no, no, no.”

That’s no longer possible? “No, but that will be fine.”
