British First Dates at the altar – there is yet another twist in the buzz of the program. Former and current employees of the production tell for the BBCthat the leading staff of the program had an “unhealthy way” of the participants having sex.
According to one ex-employee, the program had a “toxic culture”. According to him, the employees were expecting to get a hint if the couples ended up in bed on the first night.
Another ex-employee says he expressed his concern to the production that some of the couples might not want to share a bed on the first night.
– They were alone with a stranger, and they weren’t really married, he says.
According to the ex-employee, one of the production members replied: “Don’t you understand that we want them to sleep together?” According to the ex-employee, the members of the film crew even made a bet about who would have sex first.
According to the workers, the producers were worried if the couples didn’t have sex, because it wouldn’t be good for the plot twists. In addition, the employees claim that the production manipulated the participants.
According to the employees, the producers deliberately tried to anger or upset the participants in order to get watchable drama on the show. One of the ex-employees demands that the program be terminated.
Lawyers for the show’s production company, CPL, dispute the former employees’ claims. According to the lawyers, the claims of the former employees come from the fact that they have a “chicken to pluck” with the production company. Channel 4 says that the welfare of the participants is always a primary concern in all their productions.
Channel 4 has commissioned an external investigation into the well-being of the participants.
What is it about?
Two women who took part in the program previously told the BBC Panorama-documentary that their husbands, seen in the program, raped them. The men in question have denied the women’s accusations.
In addition, a third woman has made accusations of sexual harassment in the program. Later, three other people who participated in the program told about the sexual abuse and violence that happened on the set.
All episodes of the show have been removed from Channel 4’s streaming service, and in addition, a major sponsor of the series has withdrawn.
